Position Overview

As a Platform Engineer – Infrastructure, you will take the lead on networking and infrastructure while also shaping the broader platform through automation, security, and performance optimization.

Working alongside the Platform Engineers, you'll design, build, and manage cloud and on-prem environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency.

Your expertise will drive seamless operations while giving you the opportunity to refine and enhance our infrastructure and networking landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Networking

• Architect, implement, and maintain cloud and on-prem networks (VPCs, VPNs, DNS, load balancers, firewalls).
• Ensure high availability, security, and cost optimization of infrastructure and networking components.
• Manage and optimize VMware-based infrastructure (ESXi servers), ensuring scalability and performance.
• Improve network observability, troubleshooting latency issues and optimizing data flow.

Automation & CI/CD

• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Puppet.
• Automate deployments and configurations using Gitlab and ArgoCD.
• Maintain and improve ephemeral environments for testing and development.

Observability & Performance

• Monitor platform performance with Prometheus, Grafana, LogicMonitor and other observability tools.
• Lead incident response, troubleshoot issues, and drive root cause analysis.

Security & Compliance

• Enforce Zero Trust principles, manage IAM, RBAC, and security best practices.
• Ensure compliance with compliance requirements.

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

• Work together with the Platform Engineering team to increase the knowledge and drive Platform improvements as a team.
• Collaborate closely with developers, security, and other teams to support platform needs.
• Maintain clear documentation and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in infrastructure, networking, or platform engineering.
• Strong expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP networking, security, and compute services.
• Hands-on experience with VMware for virtualisation and on-prem infrastructure.
• Proficiency in networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Load Balancers, Firewalls).
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, service meshes (Istio), and CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab pipelines)
• Experience with automation and configuration management tools like Puppet, Terraform, or Ansible.
• Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, Go).
• Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Splunk, LogicMonitor).
• Security-first mindset, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a cross-functional team.
